Jargon is not precision. In consumer products it is mostly a way of moving the burden of understanding onto the user. Here is the list we hold ourselves to.
Banned, and what we say instead
Seed phrase becomes recovery. Gas becomes network fee, shown in local currency. Bridge becomes move. Approve becomes allow this app to use your balance. Mint becomes create. Wallet address becomes account.
Rules for new words
If a word only exists inside crypto, it needs to earn its place on the screen. If it cannot be explained in six words in a tooltip, it does not ship.
Advanced users lose nothing: the precise term stays available in details views and in the docs.
Why it compounds
Plain language reduces support load, shortens onboarding, and makes the product legible to people who will never read a whitepaper — which is almost everyone.
